Here’s a sneak peek at one of our art activities that we are running over the October half term, a Bonfire night inspired piece of art work, with the houses of parliament in the foreground – thanks to Ellen Ledger our art activity leader.
Also here is our delicious Spiced Apple Cake recipe that we made at our after school clubs:
175g castor sugar
175g butter
175g self raising flour
3 eggs
2 medium sized apples 🍎
2 tsp cinnamon
2 tsp Lemon juice
Peel and core the apples then chop into small pieces.
Put the chopped apple in a pan and add a couple of tbsp. water, 2 tsp lemon juice and 1 desert spoon sugar then heat the apple pieces until slightly softened (not mushy); this should only take a couple of mins.
Drain the apple and leave to cool.
Combine the sugar, butter and flour in a bowl.
Add the eggs and cinnamon and mix.
Add the apple to the cake batter and stir.
Bake in a greased tin on 180* for approx. 25 mins.
Enjoy!
